About

Meet Scott

Scott Richardson: A Lifetime of Service and Leadership

Scott Richardson has dedicated his life to serving the state and community he proudly calls home. His extensive service includes over 20 years of working with children through church programs, coaching youth baseball and softball, and supporting Upward youth sports.

Throughout his adult life, Scott has remained committed to civic engagement. He is a combat veteran who served in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq during the First Gulf War. He has also been an active member of the American Legion, participated in various Ducks Unlimited chapter committees, volunteered with Boys and Girls Clubs, and contributed to the Republican Party at multiple levels.

Following his military service, Scott earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees in technology from Arkansas Tech University. With more than 25 years of experience, he has applied technology to solve complex business challenges across small businesses and Fortune 100 companies. As a technology leader, he has managed fiscal, resource, and operational responsibilities while implementing strategic technology solutions. He also gives back to his profession by mentoring aspiring technologists as an adjunct professor within the University of Arkansas system.

Politically, Scott currently serves as a member of the Benton County Republican Party and is a two term Arkansas State Representative for portions of Bentonville, Rogers, and Cave Springs. A lifelong Arkansan, he and his family reside in Bentonville, where his children attend Bentonville Public Schools. He is an active member of First Baptist Church Bentonville, serving in the children’s ministry, and is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys a variety of outdoor sports throughout The Natural State.

Why I'm Serving

I'm currently serving as State Representative for District 13, because families here in Benton County deserve a fighter that understands our people and our state. Here in NWA we are melting-pot, full of wonderful diversity of culture and ideas. We have the greatest opportunity to maximize these diversity influencers through investment in technological tools and infrastructure to empower growth and improve quality of life for all Arkansans. As your representative I will fight for less government intrusion and more freedom for our people as we build better lives and tomorrows for our state.

My Passion

Arkansas is my favorite place to be, and why she is my life-long home. I've built a life, a family, and a career within her borders and know there is no other place where I want to be. Technology has always been slow to catch up in our state, and yet the return on investment to education, healthcare, business and quality of life is immeasurable. Given it's impact and the technological direction our community is growing, our legislative body needs more representatives that understand the challenges and opportunities technology presents and can lead our state to maximize that return for our people.
